SIX - WRAPPING IT UP
- What aspect of the novel impacted you the most? Explain.
I really liked the aspect of Cady just hallucinating about her friends at one point of the story, as it seemed so seamless and no one would have noticed if it wasn't for the explanation at the end. In general the whole plot twist that was so unexpected really impacted me and left a really good impression behind.
- Do you think "We Were Liars" would make a good movie? Why? Why not?
Yes, I think the novel would make a great movie. Although movies that are based on books tend to vary in some aspects from the book, the movie has a big chance to be liked by the audience. Not only has the story quite a few filler chapters that could be shortened or removed completely in the movie adaption but the story itself is pretty solid and also not the ususal you would read. That leads me to my next point: The whole story is different and the plot twist is also pretty big, showing a whole new side of the events and changing the direction completely. I also would love to see how they put the idea of the hallucinations into action when filming.
- Were you satisfied with the ending of the novel? Explain specific things you liked about this ending. If you were not satisfied, how would you have ended the novel, and why would you have needed it this way?
I was actually pretty satisfied with the ending. It wasn't what I had expected but surely was a good way to round of the whole story. The ending created like a throwback to the beginning and the first chapter with its structure and references. I personally liked the way they explained everything at the end, leaving me with a clear picture of the events and actually understanding what happened.
